For the past 20 years, my wife and I have been going to Newark Dental Associates. Both of us have had major work done in their offices as well as regular routine visits. About five years ago, our insurance carrier changed and because of the coverage, we tried two different dentists. One visit to each was enough. We couldn’t wait to switch back. Appointments are kept on time, the facility is well maintained and the staff is genuinely interested in providing quality care. Okay, I admit it! I'm a complete wimp when it comes to pain. So, every experience I had in a dentist's chair could be likened to torture ... until 1990. Dr. Joseph Chou has been my dentist for 16 years. I had been a lifelong patient of Stout Brothers/Newark Dental. When I first started seeing Dr. Chou I had been without dental insurance for a number of years. When I finally got a job with dental insurance, I came into the office. After his initial assessment, we set up appointments for every other Saturday for many, many weeks. He soon had everything in repair.

Years later, when I was in need of a root canal, I told him to pull the tooth. He urged me to go on with the root canal. When I did and the temporary cap would not stay on I told him again to pull it, due to cost. He ‘built’ me a tooth on top of the root canal. He said that it could last two months, or two years. Ten years later, I still had it, and we replaced it with a crown.

Dr. Chou is the best dentist I have ever known. He is always pro active in my dental health, he always makes sure that I like the way the work looks when he is finished and in all the years that I have been going to him, requiring quite a lot of Novocain, I have NEVER felt him give me a needle.

My sister and my niece also go to see Dr. Chou, and my sister also has a tooth that he built for her.

I will go to Dr. Chou for as long as he will see me. He is an awesome dentist and I would recommend him to anyone. -Linda-Lee
